With the rise of the internet, the phenomenon of the supermodel and expansion of globalism, the lines between fashion, art and commerce blurred even more during the 1990s. The first-ever fashion exhibition at the El Paso Museum of Art features haute couture and ready-to-wear garments from designers like Gianni Versace, Givenchy, Dior and more.

Organized by the McNay Art Museum, “Fashion Nirvana: Runway to Everyday” is a vibrant journey through the world of design.

Partake with Fashion Educator Vanessa Ramirez on November 18th and Businesswoman Nan Napier on November 19th at 4:30PM for a guided exhibition tour.

Ramirez serves as the program coordinator and an instructor at the EPCC Fashion Technology program. The Fashion Technology program has existed at EPCC for over 30 years and provides degrees in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, or Fashion Illustration. Ramirez is knowledgeable about past and future trends in the ever-changing fashion technology landscape to connect students with real industry experience.

Napier owned and operated Tres Mariposas in El Paso. Tres Mariposas was a high-end women’s clothing and jewelry store, opened in 1970. Napier excelled at staying ahead of the constantly evolving fashion and retail world to connect her clientele with latest trends.
